So i go to open it up and the window itself is slightly translucent, and the contrast and brightness are so high its almost just a white scree, which gets worse when my mouse is on the window. I can't see anything on it, tried reinstalling it multiple times, nothing helps. Rebooted pc, didn't work. I can't find anyone else who has this problem and i have no idea what could be going on here.

Since you don't say so _and_ mention reinstalling and rebooting as things you did trying to "fix this", I am assuming you're on Windows. Go to settings/configure krita/display and select Angle instead of OpenGL.
