this quite literally happens randomly, and the program just stops showing me any color on the canvas. it still registers as a brush stroke, but nothing shows up. ive tried restarting my laptop, closing and reopening krita, everything, but the entire thing is now lost forever. this happened in my second drawing on this too, and i was nearly complete too. completely lost forever, no bringing it back, ever. ive lost countless hours and whole drawings to this thing. please tell me how to fix this, i hate it.

How do you know it still registers the brush stroke? Why is the entire thing lost forever? Is it preventing you to save?

Your description is very unclear. Do you mean Krita hung, and there's no saved version of your image that you can load? Or that you can load your image but not paint on it?
In the first case, unless you switched that off, or are working on a system where autosave doesn't work because of permissions problems you cannot have lost countless hours of work; autosave saves every fifteen minutes. And, of course, you should have saved your work regularly as well. In the second case, it sounds a bit like that what you describe first is you can open an existing image, but cannot paint on it anymore. That sounds like you might have a very small selection active. |
