Im new to Krita so i have two questions.
1- Is there a way to enable thumbnails as preview similar to ubuntu file view and windows explorer. 2- Can Krita be configured so files can be opened by double clicking the left mouse button instead of a single click, i sometimes end up opening a wrong file by accident. |

1. What system you're on?
2. You mean on the Welcome Screen? |

I'm using ubuntu 18.4.3 bionic beaver and specifiaclly i'm referring to changing this into double clicking and proper thumbnails? Not exactly the home screen, Im referring to to white thumbnails in open file box when it is triggered by a command like ctrl + o would be easy to show if i could add a attachment here instead of a link. |

Go to Configure Krita -> General -> Miscellaneous and check or uncheck "Enable native file dialogs". I believe it should be disabled by default.

Only, if you're using the appimage, Krita cannot use the native file dialogs for either GNOME or Plasma, since those are implemented in a Qt plugin that we don't (and cannot, for technical reasons) package. And the Qt file dialog cannot be extended to provide previews.

You completely ignored Boud's answer:

And the Qt file dialog cannot be extended to provide previews. Are you using appimage? If not, then it's still the fault of your own native dialogs that they can't show krita files thumbnails. Krita uses two different dialogs: (1) Qt ones, which cannot provide previews; (2) your native ones, which in your case would be either not possible to use (if you're using appimage) or implemented in your desktop environment. In both cases, it's not Krita's code that is responsible for that. If the checkbox I mentioned doesn't work for you, I cannot hep your further. |
