Greetings,
I have started using Krita a few days ago so I'm a noob. I was playing around with importing some *.svg files from the internet. The thing is, that some vector files don't get rendered to the ppi I input on the import popup screen, the image stays the same. I have checked the forum and did not find anything similar. Working .svg file: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalable_Vector_Graphics#/media/File:SVG_logo.svg Not working .svg file: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/14/CDDAlogo.svg System information:
Best Regards

The one that you say is working, the CDDA logo, always imports at the same size for me no matter what ppi setting I specify.
The one you say is not working, the SVG logo, can have it's size varied by adjusting the ppi on import. Did you get them mixed up? The contents of vector files don't get rendered as such (unless you're Exporting). That ppi thing on import is a scaling factor in case the imported .svg file specifies a very small or a very large 'presentation' size. (I think that's to do with the viewBox tag but I never understood it.) The CDDA logo says it was created in Inkscape and it specifies its size in inches. The SVG logo specifies its height as 100%. I've no idea how this affects things but I don't think it matters. Since they're vector objects you can easily resize them by selecting them and dragging out the handles of the bounding box. |

Yes I got them mixed up, thank you for pointing it out.
I tested it and you are right. When the vector image did not resize it to the specified PPI I always had a feeling it is not as sharp as the same image in GIMP, where it got resized(or maybe rendered). That's why I thought something was not right. So that's why one is "resized" successfully and the other is not. Thank you for clarifying this. I'm sorry I took your time. Best Regards |
