G'MIC is installed by default?

Tue Jan 14, 2020 9:26 am
Hello, everybody.
I'm gonna have to give an introductory lesson about Krita to a class of 14-year-old boys. Krita is already installed in the computer room PCs. I would also like to talk about the G'MIC filter system: I was wondering if I will find G.MIC already installed or if it should be installed after Krita's installation.

Thank you.

It depends on the OS you're using: we don't have g'mic for macOS (because macOS is a bit broken when it comes to its shared memory implementation). For Linux, if you use the appimages, you need to also download the gmic appimage. For Windows, it's part of the single download.

... I forgot to mention that the PCs in the computer room have Windows installed!
Thanks, sorry :)
