Hi guys!
I am experiencing an issue with the new Krita 4.2.x versions up to Krita 4.2.8 I'm on Solus linux, using appimage verisons of Krita. In all of them the problem is as follows: 1. create new blank file 2. hit the keyboard button for the Outline Selection Tool 3. make a random selection 4. then try to hit the key button for your Freehand Brush Tool 5. and it does not switch the tools. I have to change the tool, let say to switch to the Move Tool and then to activate the Freehand Brush Tool. Otherwise it doesn't happen. I'm using custom keys for the mentioned tools. And due to this inconvenience I'm still using Krita 4.1.7. It works fine. Any idea what could cause it? Thank you |

which custom keys have you assigned to the brush tool, and are you sure they're not conflicting with shortcuts used in the outline selection tool itself?

Hi TheraHedwig!
Yep! That is a good question! I am using: for Outline Selection Tool - F for Freehand Brush Tool - A I'm using also a saved shortcut key scheme file for convenience. The appimage should read the file from the .local/... folder, I think. But it doesn't respect the file. It respects the scheme from its appimage. And a second, it appears that with the new updates there were added new Actions with shortcuts, that were absent in the older versions. There is now a "Selection Mode: Add" - "A" <-- with this shortcut Which is, yes, in conflict with my shortcut A. With "Selection Mode: Add" set to "None", again it doen't work. The only think I could make up is, while with "Outline Selection Tool" to go to "Tool Options" and change the "Action" from "Add" to anything else. After that it works. If this could through some more light? |

Hm!
It is interesting! I just imported manually my custom shortcut scheme file again to Krita 4.2.8, and after that I loaded it. And with manually setting the "Selection Mode: Add" to "None". It seams to work... for now. Perhaps, this is what will solve my problem. |
