Hello and good evening. I am setting up krita to start doing pixel art and be done with photoshop but I am having a little issue that I hope there is an available setting to fix it. For some reason when I am drawing, it tends to ride on the pixel grid. I checked to see if any of the snap options were on but all of them are unchecked. Its really messing with my flow. Is there any way to change that?

Can you describe what you mean in more detail?
The only thing I can think of is that the brush outline jumps from pixel to pixel, as it would do. If this is it, you can turn off the brush outline at Settings -> Configure Krita -> General -> Cursor - Outline Shape |

Yes, it jumps from box to box rather than a smooth transition. Turning off the outline just takes away the "pixel dot" which is no good. I need for it to stop jumping from pixel to pixel. it should just be a steady movement, not a jittery one.

For the Pixel Art brush, the 'pixel dot' is the outline of the 1-pixel brush that you're using. If you click the mouse or touch the stylus on the tablet, that is where the single pixel will be placed. The brush outline shows where the paint will be applied for that brush.
For the pixel art brush, if it was a steady movement then where would the paint be applied if the outline was halfway over two pixels of over the corner of four pixels? If you use the Basic Opacity brush with size set to 1-pixel, then you would get the behaviour and appearance that you seem to want. This would not be pixel art, it would be a very small painting. |
