Hi there!
I've been using the transform tool both on vector and paint layers just fine the last couple of days. However, today's just not working with vectors. Whenever I try to rotate, scale or reposition a shape, it doesn't work. It creates a duplicate with less opacity while I'm using the tool and when I press enter, the shape goes back to its original position/ form. I don't recall having made anything that could change the tool's selection. If anyone has a hint on this, it would be awesome. I'm using Krita 4.2.9 on macbook pro mid 2012. Thanks for your time! |

I'm not sure what you mean by "It creates a duplicate with less opacity ...".
Do you get this with a new image with only one layer? In this situation, can you take a full screenshot (.png) that includes the layers docker and shows the duplicate? (You'll need to use a delayed action screenshot utility.) |

Sorry for not being clear.
What I meant is that if I start rotating the shape, instead of rotating the actual shape (which I think it was what was happening before, can't be sure), it creates a real time preview for the rotation that's being made. When I finish rotating, it pops right back to the original position. If a click Cmd+T again, it presents the preview as it was rotated previously, and if I click Enter, it goes to original position once again. And so on.. |

Can you provide a full screen screenshot (.png)?

I can't replicate this situation on the 4.2.9 Linux appimage and I can't see anything unusual about your screenshots.
I can induce a temporary cosmetic bug which may or may not be related to what you're seeing and I'll submit a formal bug report about that later. Can you try this again but don't use Cmd+T to select the Transform tool. Only use the Toolbox icons and start from a new file that has the paint layer deleted before you create the vector layer, just to keep everything simple. Can you rename the 'kritarc' configuration file to 'kritarc-previous' and restart krita to generate a new default configuration file and see if that fixes it? If it doesn't, just delete the kritarc file and rename kritarc-previous back to kritarc. This may be a Mac only thing. If so, a Mac developer or user would be needed. If, as you say, it's been working with no problems until this happened, can you think of anything you did or that happened which may have affected it? |

Just tried out everything you suggested, but it didn't fix the problem. I can't really think of anything that I could've possibly done to change the transform tool honestly, but it's a possible scenario. Gonna reinstall de software to see if that works.
Thanks for your time! |

So just reinstalled Krita after uninstalled the software and erased all the related files and the problem continues. Don't have a clue about what it might be, which is a shame, because I was using it on a daily basis

Hi, did you reset Krita by deleting kritarc?

Yes I have deleted all Krita files. Is it possible that the transform tool doesn't work on vector layers? Maybe I was using the Select Shapes Tool until now and for that reason never encountered this problem before. It does have the same function that the Transform Tool on Paint Layers, right? So maybe it's just not a problem and I'm making a mess out of nothing.

You can use the Transform tool on a vector layer/object but only the Free transform.
You can even do a shear operation that will give you a variable width line as a result. If it happens with every new file that you create then it can't be a saved file corruption problem. I have no idea why this is happening to you. |
