So i got the new beta version of Krita 4,3,0 and i was wondering if any change was done to how pixel engine brushes work,in the release notes its said that they work fairly faster. What bugs me is that the opacity brushes feel different, its like the opacity is less consisstent,so is it because of the new version,or maybe were there any changes in the "Configure krita" thing or in the tablet presssure?Just so i know if i have to get mad searching for what made the opacity different.

Can you please show a screenshot of the difference? Like a few strokes in 4.2.9 and a few strokes in 4.3.0. (You can download a portable version from the website to not have to install Krita multiple times).

I don't think the performance improvements affects the results, it should've just removed some overhead that slowed the computations down.
And I don't really have an idea what "opacity is less consistent" could mean. Does it fluctuate unexpectedly? If there was a difference, it would have to show somehow, otherwise I'm afraid it does sound quite like you're imagining things here...but I know that replicating strokes with same pressure levels is not easy. One thing to keep in mind, there is a difference in blending with linear and gamma/sRGB encoded color spaces, in linear RGB the transition oddly enough looks quite non-linear, that's because our eyes happen to respond non-linear to light. So make sure you don't compare apples to oranges... |
