Strange little behavior with Huion only in Krita.

Sorry, I know this is a tiny issue and not with Krita... but I cannot for the life of me figure this out and it only happens in Krita.

So I have a smallish Huion Tablet, and on the left side, vertically, it's got an array of 8 buttons. Let's focus on the Zoom in/Zoom out ones in the center:

I have mapped them to [ and ] to increase and decrease brush size. But in Krita it seems to recognize and obey the actual function of the buttons: to zoom in and out.

What's weird is... these buttons aren't explicitly zoom in or zoom out. By Default they are just key shortcuts. Default is Shift+- and Shift++.
If I open any text editor and start pressing the buttons, I get [[ ]]]][[[, it works as it should.

All of the buttons while in Krita seem to do what they are labelled to do. Brush size, zoom, undo, eraser, etc, and cannot be changed. But like I said, that's weird because the buttons are simply shortcuts and I'm almost willing to bet even by default they don't match Krita.
And when I open any other program and start pressing them, the key shortcut works.

It's like Krita is reading some solid Directinput keys or has a profile for this tablet or something.

I know this isn't truly a Krita problem, but maybe someone could give me a helping hand. It's a head scratcher.

I know that the Wacom driver can tell which application is active and you can set different profiles (settings, behaviour) for different applications.
Maybe the Huion driver can tell that you're using krita and it behaves in the 'correct' way to drive krita. With other applications (non graphics) it behaves differently.
How does it behave with GIMP and Inkscape, as examples?
