Krita crashes when I click on the frames in the animation timeline. Sometimes the first click, sometimes after a few. This happens with projects with keyframes and pictures without any frames. This started happening after I updated to 4.3.
I'm running OSX 10.14.6. I have some crash reports if those would help. Thanks in advance! |

* Does this also happen if you reset Krita's settings? (https://docs.krita.org/en/KritaFAQ.html ... figuration)
* If you start krita from Terminal.app (run /Applictions/krita.app/contents/macos/krita), is there anything interesting printed to the terminal? |

I tried both suggestions but to no avail
![]() After a little more digging, I did find that the cause of the crash seems to be dragging the mouse along the timeline - not clicking. |

@Leonardo can you please read the description of a similar problem here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424037 and check if it's the same problem as you have? Both yours and theirs are crashes and related to animation timeline.

@tymond, @boudewijn:
I see this with the 4.3.0 appimage with three different (various lengths/sizes) animations that have previously shown no problems on Debian Stable. It happens as soon as I click on a frame or, if not, when I try to click on another frame or if I try to scrub along the timeline. A fresh kritarc file and fresh resources don't fix this. Example terminal output: QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 3 QPainter::setCompositionMode: Painter not active QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 3 QPainter::setCompositionMode: Painter not active QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 3 QPainter::setCompositionMode: Painter not active Segmentation fault The animations play ok but crash if I then try scrubbing along the timeline. Later, when I have free time, I can try Windows and Ubuntu and other variations to check for any differences, similarities, patterns etc. I'm sure that I've tried these animations before in 4.3.0 with no problems (but I don't keep records of every little thing I do). |

@Leonardo: Can you check and ensure that Canvas Graphics Acceleration is turned on?
I find that a crash can be induced in 4.3.0 onwards if you scrub in the Timeline with it turned off. |

This doesn't seem to affect mine - crashing with it on and off.
This seems to be it. Thanks! |
