Hi,

I am a beginner, but I've long struggled with creating a single image out of multiple images in photo editing software. Namely, I am taking screen grabs of a larger image, a newspaper page and clipping them down to just the article but recreating it as a new single image. Is there a resource or tutorial anywhere that might be able to help me do this in Krita? Many thanks!

This suggests a scrapbook or collage type of activity. Is this what you mean?
As far as I know, there's not a specific tutorial because it's quite a simple combination of several very basic tools and techniques.

You create a new 'target' image that's large enough to hold all your 'scraps' and then open the source images that you'll be selecting scraps from. You can resize the target image later to make it bigger if you misjudged the size needed.

For each of the source images, you need to select a region you want which can be done with any of the selection tools. Generally, you'd make a Polygonal selection or a freehand Outline selection and then do Edit -> Copy to put the contents of that selection on the clipboard.
In the target image you do Edit -> Paste and that makes a new layer with the pasted content. Then you can use the Move tool to move it to where you want it.
Repeat that for all your source images/scraps and you have a target image that has each of your scraps on a separate layer so you can easily treat them all separately for transform-resizing/moving/rotating, colour/contrast adjustment, manual paint/eraser fiddling, etc.

It's very similar to the traditional techniques with scissors/scalpel and slow drying glue except that you're copying-out instead of cutting-out. Also, you get the advantages of having the scraps on separate layers as noted.

The manual is a very good source of information about many things: https://docs.krita.org/en/
