Hello. I'm planning to try animating in Krita this weekend. I may end up creating my own template but I'm curious about Krita's own Japanese template. I read the part that it may have to printed, hence its resolution is above 72 dpi. But if we're exporting this into a video editing software have are we supposed to make a sequence fit into something like 1920x1080 at 72 dpi? I tried importing a still into Da Vinci Resolve and had to manually resize it within its title safe guides. That's hardly a reliable approach if we wish to composite into another program.

it's best to batch resize it with something like imagemagick, or to scale the animation down before exporting.
The template is just a way certain studios work, it will not magically improve or ruin your animation if you aren't using it specifically. |

I'm thinking of creating my own template because I want to animate at high definition sizes. The Japanese template makes no sense in achieving that output - unless there's a method of cropping out the peg hole area automatically. |

If you want to crop an image or animation to a desired size, you can drag out a rectangular selection to define the desired area,
then do Image -> Trim to Selection. This will remove all content outside the selection and resize the canvas to the selection size. |
