How does shape edit tool work with stylus?

Hi.

I've decided to try drawing in vector on my tablet and it was a very frustrating experience. When I touch a node with a stylus, it becomes selected (red) permanently. Deselect (Ctrl+Shift+A) doesn't work. Sometimes (but not always) I'm able to deselect by Ctrl+stylus touch. But sometimes it changes node type instead. Sometimes it's Shift+touch on empty space that deselects node, but other times it just moves the node to that position.

Is there any logic in this? I fail to see any pattern in how I can select/deselect nodes in Shape Edit Tool with stylus.

The Ctrl+Shift+A Deselect doesn't work with vector objects, it's a different 'world'.

I find that Shift+touch will select a node and add it to existing selected nodes and will also deselect an existing selected node.
To deselect all nodes, I double-touch on an empty place. Shift+double-touch will deselect the entire shape.

To select shapes and nodes is confusing and seems to need an initial double-touch or two separate touches to get you started.
Also, I see selected nodes as coloured blue and I don't know why you see them as red.
