Hey everyone,
I'm new to Krita and have happened upon it in my attempt to convert a large file to CMYK for printing purposes. In a nutshell: I've made a recipe book on behalf of an animal sanctuary. I made it in GIMP 2.10 (Windows 10). I am a graphic design novice, and now know on reflection GIMP was a poor choice for a project such as this. Anyhoo, each page is now 1 (merged) layer. There are 138. GIMP runs on sRGB, but obviously for commerical printing purposes (500 copies) it should really be CMYK, and sadly GIMP is just not set up for converting to this colour profile, or even for pdf export for that matter. I've found exporting the GIMP file as a TIFF and bringing it into Krita does work - and Krita is much better at converting colour profiles. The problem: Firstly, the file is huge so it hasn't all come across. But it does seem to work. My problem is that Krita says it's out of RAM, and it wants me to configure my settings. I did this, and gave it loads more RAM/ memory, any of the setting that looked useful I just upped them all. Restarted my computer but it didn't seem to make a difference and it's still saying I need to configure my RAM. Please can anyone advise on how to do this, if this is possible and if TIFF is the way to go? As I said I am a novice so this has been a steep learning curve for me! Many thanks in advance |
