Some UI elements nearly invisible

Sat Nov 14, 2020 3:09 pm
Hi,

I have a problem where Krita renders some of the UI text in a fancy gradient font making it completely illegible and thus unusable. This is what it looks like:

This happens with every dark theme. I tried Krita 4.4.0 and 4.4.1 from an AppImage. My system is Ubuntu 20.04. I have Kvantum installed.

I tried resetting the settings.

Krita doesn't do anything fancy to the fonts: it just reads the desktop environment's system font (though Qt) and uses that. In the latest nightly builds (stable and unstable), you can explicitly set the font krita uses for the ui, and the font size. You might want to try those builds, or complain to the kvantum developers: it's not a bug in Krita itself.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know if this is a Kvantum related bug. (Is Kvantum even available to an app running from an AppImage)? I added that I use it for completeness sake.

No other Qt application on my system has this problem, by the way.
