i can render my animation as a gif and it works just fine but, when i render it as mp4 it only plays the first frame and its for 1 second long. i made sure to select baseline for windows, my starting frame is at the start and my ending frame is at the end. i love krita and id appreciate the help.

Have you tried playing it in the VLC player, which is free and well regarded?
Did you also set it to the H264 codec and the medium preset?
Where did you get ffmpeg from?

hey thanks so much for replying, i set my preset to medium and that solved the issue, i tested it on two animations to be certain that was the problem and it worked for both
