Sun Jan 03, 2021 6:53 pm
hi I'm a head mouse user so I need to use the mouse versions of the brushes . I found the watercolour presets from a krita video but pretty please I'm paralysed from motor neurone disease and any direct links or advice would be more appreciated than you know x
I did get a piece done with headmouse and krita into a charity exhibition and it sold in the first hour so a good start .

Which version of krita and which operating system are you using?

In version 4.4.1 (the current formal release) all the watercolour brushes are there and they work with a mouse.
What sort of advice do you need?

windows but I have to use a grid 3 interface as my mouse and with the standard brushes it was giving me three sedcionds to draw .a lot of the pencil and paints would show as a plain pixel line .
I am on 4.3 though so will update and hopefully this will sort it .
I'm paralysed from mnd so use a sticker on my head and tracker camera with grid3 software to use the window tablet

What do you mean by "plain pixel line"? Which pencil brushes are you using (do you know their names?)

Most brushes work with mouse, but also most artists use tablets and no one really is making mouse-specific brushes (the watercolor brushes "for mouse" were only made because the default ones didn't work at all with mice - there was no line; all other brushes do work, just not that well as with tablet pen). If you want a brush that starts thin and ends thin, I'm afraid Krita might not be the best choice: the start would be easy, but for ending thin Krita would need post-processing, which isn't implemented in Krita yet.

I might want to try to make you a brush that gets thinner if you move the mouse slowly, or a brush that starts thin and then ends thin but can only draw lines of a specific lengths. But I cannot make a brush that will always end thin no matter how you draw it.

Otherwise I think Medibang might have this option to start and end thin with a mouse. I'm not sure and I cannot check here (I'm on Linux).

ok thank you that's very interesting .so it's probably best to go to a forum of disabled artists and see what they use to interact with these assuistive techs. and I'll try the software company too (that make the interface I use to work with Windows and chrome )
thanks again x
