My Fedora 29 machine with Krita 4.1.8 and OpenColorIO 1.1.1 works, but my machine with Fedora 33 and Krita 4.4.2 OpenColorIO 1.1.1 does not:
I cannot change the Exposure in my 16 bit grey/alpha images. I load them in as "gray built-in" because they represent linear physical values, and I expect to use OpenColorIO and "y" to quickly change exposure to aid in editing the images. I enabled the "LUT Management" Docker. But, after selecting "Use OpenColorIO", the only two items in the "LUT &Management" Docker that are *not* grayed out are "Color Engine" (which is stuck at Internal and cannot be changed) and "Components" (which can be changed but has no effect). I cannot find a menu entry to change the exposure of the image (to see more detail in the darks) and the usual "y" and left-mouse-button does nothing. This same problem occurred in Fedora 31, which I wiped out and upgraded to F33 - this capability is so important to my work. My Fedora 29 box still works as expected but is RAM-limited, and I work with huge images, hence the need to get this working on a new machine. My problems seem functionally similar to this post from 2017: viewtopic.php?f=139&t=140527&hilit=OpenColorIO but executing `krita` prepended with `LANG=en` or `LC_ALL=C` do not allow this to work properly (there are a variety of errors sent to the terminal). Any suggestions or workarounds would be appreciated. -MS |

I know nothing about this subject area but if F29 +K4.1.8 + OCIO1.1.1 works as you want, can't you use that combination on your new computer?
Doing that may be a suitable workaround until someone can help you to figure out what may be going wrong. |

Well, I would have been happier to be able to use krita with the system upgrade, but you're right: why mess with a good thing? I installed Fedora 29, krita 4.1.8, and everything works. That means that something has been broken for years, though, which is not a good sign, because before too long, Fedora 29 will become too old to remain usable (for the other work that I do). Thanks for the suggestion!
Edit: I should have also mentioned that a Fedora 31 installation with an interim version of krita showed the same issues as the more recent 33/4.4.2 combination. |

Yes, we need a bug report for that. Not that many people use OCIO for real work, so it doesn't get tested that much in practice.

I have another Fedora 31 machine here, I'll try it out there and submit a report (now that I'm convinced that it's real and not the result of some odd setting on one machine).
