Hi, I'm new to Krita and I have problem with the size of my images.
In "create new document" menu I choose image size for example 10 cm x 10 cm and resolution 300 ppi. And I need this image to be exactly 10 cm x 10 cm and 300 ppi. But image seems to look more like 30 cm x 30 cm. Even after exporting it to tiff or any other file type. How can I menage it? How can I create image with proper size? I will really appreciate some help. |

What do you mean by that? How do you see it's 30cm and not 10cm? What does it say in Image -> Properties when you open it? |

In properties, it is 1181 px x 1181 px and 300 PPI.
But when I zoom it to 100% image is much, much larger than 10 cm x 10 cm. I mean, 10 cm x 10 cm is quite small size, so I see that this image is bigger. The same is when I export this to TIFF, JPG etc. If I export this file to PNG and open it with Inkscape (zoom 100%) image is... too small (on my screen it is about 8 cm x 8 cm). When printed (1:1) it is also too big. I know, it's weird. :/ But it's really hard to work like that. |

The image has been correctly made by krita because 10cm x 10cm at 300dpi is 1181 x 1181 pixels.
At the bottom right of the screen, to the right of the zoom slider, is a small icon called 'Use same aspect as pixels'. If you click that to enable it, you should find that the image on the monitor is then the physical size that you expect (10cm x 10cm). It does on my monitor but it depends on how well the operating system and krita work together when it comes to screen size and screen resolution information. Try it to see if that works for you. Krita doesn't have anything to do with printing. It works with digital images that have a size in pixels. It works with pixels. It does help you by doing various calculations for you involving physical size (inches, cm, etc) and image printing resolution (dpi) but printing is a thing that krita does not do. Inkscape does whatever it does and had its own internal settings and adjustments, deep in its Edit -> Preferences -> Imported Images area. Printing an image is a magical mystery tour that involves the printer drivers, the operating system and the printer, which krita has no influence over. If an image is printing too large or too small then you need to look into the settings of your printer utility/driver, where you can (or should be able to) do all sorts of scaling adjustments to get what you want. |

Omg, that's it! "Use same aspect as pixels" does work.
Thank you for your help. |
