How do I reset the gui?

Wed Nov 11, 2009 6:27 am
I moved everything around and now it's kinda screwy and confusing. Is there a way to reset the layout of the gui?

Kubuntu 9.10
Krita Version 2.0.2
Using KDE 4.3.3 (KDE 4.3.3)

Try the following with Krita closed:

Code: Select all
rm -rf $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/apps/krita/*ui.rc
rm -f $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/config/kritarc

Reason: Add additional statement needed to reset Dockers, thanks boudewijn.

Note: the position of dockers isn't those files but in $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/config/kritarc. If someone adds a bug to bugzilla about not being able to reset the gui, I'll look into implementing a photoshop-like reset gui button :-)

Yes, you just need to remove the kritarc file and all settings will be reset.

...which you can do by opening a terminal / konsole and pasting the following text (and hitting enter):

rm -rf $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/apps/krita/*ui.rc

(as posted by bcooksley above)

Dear (lovely) Krita Guys...(Boud, Sven, Cyrille etc)...

I do have the exact problem with 2.1 but your provided solution doesn't
help me...

It is about a WINDOWS install... And I couldn't get a "nightly" version
of Krita, therefore I installed the 2.1 with KDE 4.34 but some things
are tricky.

I do not have a "ui.rc" within the defined folder and deleting krita.rc...
didn't provide me with the right results ;-(

Perhaps some of you can help me out...

Thanks in Advance (ps: reinstalling Krita did not help)...AndreasP Meanwhile I am using the Linux Version....

Check if you have a kritarc file (without dot).
