I'm using PCLinuxOs 2009 with 2.6.26.8.tex3 kernel, KDE 4.3.4 and Krita version 2.1.0
The Open Document dialogue box comes up, I choose a file, but when I click on OK - Krita exits completely. I was wondering if there is a known issue with my setup. Thanks, Arthur |

Maybe because of metadata in the jpeg?

Currently there is there are no reported problems with loading of jpeg files. It could be a local issue or package error. Investigate that we need a backtrace and if possible a file that crashes.

Sorry, I'm not too savy here. I think to get a backtrace, I need to have a debugging version of krita? I don't see that in the repository.
I did run krita from a terminal. When it starts up, I get: Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display ":0.0". but Krita does open. Then, when I try to open the jpeg, I get: Wrong JPEG library version: library is 62, caller expects 70 so I guess that's the problem. I see lots of jpeg libraries in my repository, but none refer to 62 or 70 in the name. Guess I'll have to get some more help on the PCLinuxOS board. Thanks, Arthur |

Looks to me like you habe libjpeg 6.2 installed, but the Krita package is build for 7.

Yes, I found libjpeg62 in my repository but no sign of libjpeg70.

The jpeg library version sounds like a bug in the package that you would need to report to your distribution.

I'm getting the same problem, although I have libjpeg7 installed. I suspect the problem is that currently Kubuntu Lucid doesn't seem to have any libjpeg7-dev package, only libjpeg62-dev. You can see the backtrace it creates at:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=225559 Of course it may just be because we're both in . |
