Thanks Josim , tested & updated !
@Boudewijn : Sure, at least , I have a bit of deception. Surely something that didn't work in my compiling : for my first strokes and test everything look really slow. The triangle selector takes years to take a color, and the strokes of painting become crispy very fast. The right-click wheel menu appear with my stylus button, but I can't select nothing (tools) or change a colors. May be I need to tweak other things to got a proper install ? Thanks again, I'm exited to try a speedpainting with it when this will be fixed. |

Um... It looks like I'm probably a bit late with this post, but you know there's a step by step, tested, written by and for artists guide to compiling on a vanilla install of Ubuntu/Kubuntu Karmic here:

The bug where you can't select a color is known https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=232065
I don't see the other problems here though. |

As slangkamp stated the triangle selector is known bug. Everything look really slow? What do you mean by that? Anything else then triangle selector?
Can you be more specific? What brush did you use? Can you sent some screenshot of it?
Yep, that's a bug, it works only for mouse for me at the moment.
Seems you run into known bugs that we need to fix. If you have time, you can try to find workarounds (use different color selector, click&hunt the colors/brush engines without right-click wheel,...). Thanks for your input! It's very valuable.

@Kubuntiac ; thanks for the link , but I tryed it before did my post, and few things looks outdated in it, cause it wasn't working for me on a karmic fresh install ( gnome edition )
@Slangkamp ; many sorry , I should read before the bug tracker to know more about it. I learn to discover the krita project ; slowly but surely. Btw, thanks to report me in your last post you fixed it. I will try to update tomorrow. @LukasT.dev : Sure , sorry too for the lake of description. Next time ( after my next update ) I will try to come with screenshot or screenrecording to make the communication easier. I give hundreds of brush stroke/minutes and my conception of the world "crispy" is relative. I will report more detailed info further. Thanks for your precise questions. |

* Quickpalette :
Ok, I updated ; Now the "Quick Palette" look to recognize when my stylus is hover (outline in blue the option/color ) ; but close when I try to hit an option ( color triangle / color history or tools ) without select it. It's work with my mouse. * Crispy stroke : I did a screenshot about what I mean ; I did just a speed cross-hatching movement. At first , Krita look to follow my move smoothly ; but the end of the stroke is totally "crispy" even if my move is constant. I tryed to speedsketch and it's hard because a lot of unwanted stroke appear. ( it look artistic , btw ) Is there a way to control the diameter of the brush with 2 keyboard shortcuts ? I couldn't find it yet Thanks ! (PS : I started a thread with my experimentations ; viewtopic.php?f=138&t=87088 ) |

You can size the brush with comma and dot (, and .)

Is there a way to customise it ? On french Azerty keyboard, this require tricky hand position + shift key |

Yes, you can change it in Settings->Configure Shortcuts

Go to Settings/Configure shortcuts. Type "Brush" in the search bar, so you can easily find the Decrease Brush Size and Increase Brush Size options. If you click on those you can replace the default key with a custom one.

Thanks ! Brush size this way is perfect ; as well as the fix for the "Quick palette" . I updated 10 minutes ago, and now it works with my stylus.

There is also nicer way. You can just press Shift and drag (left-click) with cursor left and right to change the size of the brush..

Ok, some news from my tests
* My "crispy" brush stroke went away after installing the proprietary driver for my Nvidia card + activate OpenGl in the settings of Krita. Good ! * The brush size sometime happen with strokes sometime not ; idem for the "shift" key. I don't know how to reproduce when it doesn't work. Sorry. * Triangle selection and all color selector are still slow to "drag/paint the color" ; I usually keep stylus pressed on the cursor and drag to the wanted position. * I tryed to import some settings of my Gimp brush kit (http://www.davidrevoy.com/?article29/fr ... evolutions) but it seems krita don't resize diameter of bitmap painting stroke. * "Quick palette" don't save the opacity / the blending mode ; would be better for speedpainter if it could do it. * The blending mode list need to be scrolled to find a blending mode / really long to switch from "multiply" to "normal". If this little list can give some dev. idea, I would be happy |
