Krita Shortcuts

Tue Oct 05, 2010 8:13 am
Hey everybody!
My name is Andreas, and recently found Krita! I have to say, this is an awsome peace of software!!! Yesterday I have build my own 2.3 beta version!! Really great! Very smooth working and a great brush engine!!!!
I am using a wacom intuos 3 A5. Unfortunately I have problems with the shortcuts. Somehow they don't seem to work. First when I started Krita I could use select all (strg+a). But after I used my pen for painting, I have lost the shortcuts. Does anybody know that issue? Is there anything I can do about?

I have build Krita under Ubuntu 10.10 RC.
I am really eager to paint my first Artwork with Krita! Really great! Keep on developers!!

Hm... That's a strange thing. I haven't heard of it before, though it is possible that shortcuts get sort of hijacked -- for instance, if you create a text object and activate it, ctrl-a will be mapped to select-all-text instead.

I tried the following:

* load an image
* ctrl-a, ctrl-x, ctrl-z (select all, cut, undo)
* paint with my wacom graphire tablet
* ctrl-a, ctrl-x again -- and that still worked.

Did you do something different?

thanks for your quick response!
Actually I don't know exactly when the shortcuts stopped working. I am at work atm. When I get home I will try it once again!
But is this usual, when my pen is not used, that my brushpreset jumps automatically to my mousepreset?
Could my problem somehow be related to this "feature"?

Yes, that's normal: in Krita, you can not only have different tools active for different input devices (like, the pan tool for the mouse and the freehand tool for the tablet), but also for different wacom pens (so your artpen, airbrush and stylus all have a different tool associated), but also different presets, so you can have smudge on your mouse, pixel brush on your stylus, spray on your airbrush and sketch on your art pen, for instance.
