I've gone through this;
viewtopic.php?f=139&t=86990

But have had little success with it.

Deevad even says right at the top;

So...

I would really love to fool with this. But at the moment the current version for Ubuntu is outdated.

I have my own compiled versions of Blender and MyPaint on my system - but no success so far with Krita.

I'm going to check in IRC for help too.

Cheers!

Hi!

I am new here and I am a moron.

Managed to update the version in my distro.

I've got 2.2 now. Good enough to learn with now.

By the way, users of 10.10 (Maverick) can get the latet stable version of Krita (v2.3.1 at this time) with the Kubuntu backports PPA (will install backports of other stuff, too).

You can add this with:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

Users of 11.04 (Natty) sould have it already :)

I have the same problem than Tamccullough, 1 month without testing Krita.
I wanted to install via ppa and backport to have the stable version and watch the final product; but I stick here to the LTS (Lucid) and I have a 2.2 ...
( and I cant build/update since the compilation script is outdated ) I will wait, the ppa will surely have a Lucid version soon for pro who use LTS ?
