if you save as .kra, you actually have an ordinary zip file which you can unzip and inspect. The layout of the contents is pretty straightforward.

I think the better option for this is using drag and drop (like Gimp or Photoshop)
This shouldn't be limited to moving layers between kra files, could also be used to drag images from dolphin to krita and create a new layer with that image. It's only an idea, I'm not a developer so I don't know if this is too complicated to implement. (Sorry for my bad English) |

Yeah, hacking the files wasn't intended as a serious way of doing this. We simply need to implement copy/paste and drag and drop across instances of Krita and from other applications. I actually thought that D&D from, say, firefox already worked, but apparently not. It's not difficult, just not done yet.

I've often tried to drag and drop layers between the layer docker of two different Krita windows. I tried this just yesterday and do it in Gimp all the time. Unfortunately it doesn't work yet and I haven't had a moment to report it as a wishlist item.

It's very strange, but as I think, the Color Adjustment filter layer with 3 curves in it, seems to be faster (and more stable) than the Brightness / Contrast filter layer, with one only curve...
(I use the last build, compiled some hours ago.) |

Sorry to be a little of-topic , but I didn't knew about *.kra file who can open as a Archive. So, I saw a 'preview.png' file in it ; it certainly mean I can have a preview thumbnail of my *.kra files in my Gnome system file manager (nautilus ) as I have for *.ora and *.xcf ? Maybe something like this already exist ? I would really appreciate it |

Thanks to this new infos, I could hack the open raster thumbnailer to get the Krita thumbnail work in Gnome/Nautilus

...I think that in the "Color Adjustment" filter layer and the same named filter mask, the Red channel is called Blue and vice versa.

Yes, indeed -- something is very confused there. I'm looking into it.

Is it possible to rearrange the transparency percentage bar like it was in some previous builds:
It was easy to control with a tablet or mouse by just move left-right. Currently it is very short... But, of course, do not do, if it may cause problems in the more important functions. It is not a necessary part, just a minor convenience. |
