I installed Synaptic first (through Software Center). And then the usual way to install any packages from Synaptic. |

Thank you alexey, I got my first crash using the move layer selection and the transform layer or selection. I would like to know when is going to be released the stable version. For drawing and painting I never got a crash. This will be so fun for my concept designs.

Woo HOO! \o/
You're welcome.
Looking forward to it. That's what we do it for! By the way, which distro did you actually end up using? |

FOr that test, I was using Ubuntu 11.10 in the compiz UI and in the Ubuntu 2d UI. I dont know why gimp is working so bad with pressure in ubuntu 11.10. So, I want to use both very well, and using Mypaint. SO like david said, I will go back to my Linux Mint 11, right now I will start writing the script in my terminal XD, I will let you know later. THanks again Kubuntiac and the whole team of developers.

Beta 3 is crashing as soon as I try to use my tablet.
Error reported is... ASSERT failure in QVector<T>::at: "index out of range", file /opt/project-neon/include/QtCore/qvector.h, line 339 Can select colors and select other UI widgets but as soon as I hit the canvas it fails with the above error. If I just dot the canvas am seeing as least two lines drawn towards the top left corner. This is similar to ghost lines I'm occasionally seeing in Gimp, where lines are drawn off to the top left of the canvas. David Revoy Tweeted about this Gimp behavior on the 17th Oct. MyPaint on the other hand works seamlessly. I suspect Ubuntu 11.10 is passing through negative pen coordinates and MyPaint is filtering them out, Gimp is converting them to 0, and Krita is doing no filtering, leading to the indexing error. Just a guess. My environment: Ubuntu 64bit, 11.04 regretfully upgraded to 11.10, with KDE Desktop retrofitted (because Unity just sucks completely). Krita 2.4 beta3 installed from Ubuntu Neon PPA. |

Just a follow up on my previous post. Tracked down the bug which is reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/863154.
Comment #13 against the bug suggests updating Xorg using the ppa: https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa. Have done this and Beta 3 is now working with my tablet! |

We need a complete backtrace for that assert. Otherwise it's hard to tell if it's really a tablet problem.

Project neon installed, software up to date
KDE Deamon Crash dialog pops up on Project neon start up. I'm able to navigate/ start apps with wacom, but i'm still unable to paint a stroke with wacom. (No probs with other apps like Gimp, Blender on Ubuntu 11.10) Is there something else i have to do to get Krita (Beta 6) painting?? Cheers Charlie |
