Hi!
I'm going to be creating a comprehensive video tutorial series/course on Krita over the next couple months and I was hoping to get some feedback. I'm a new computer teacher at a public high school and I've switched my lab almost completely to using FOSS. Although I've been able to mooch wonderful, professional, and free training from YouTube for most of the software (Inkscape, Blender, etc), there doesn't appear to be anything for Krita, other than a few odds and ends. I purchased the Muses DVD and have been using it, but my high school students aren't exactly stoked about having to read subtitles while trying to figure out how to use a Tablet and Krita at the same time! haha... I posted a few demos on YouTube as part of figuring out my workflow, and to get feedback on. I would appreciate your comments either here, or on YouTube. There will be two series, the main one about Krita, which will be OS agnostic (the first video will be redone to separate out the Linux specific parts) and the other will be about using a Wacom tablet with Krita on Linux (which my lab will be switching to next year if they let me =) Krita 2.9 Tutorial Series Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... 1UE9P5LUvZ Linux - Wacom - Krita, Tutorial Series: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... vc8dz8bOxl A few specific questions I have so far that you could help me out with? 0. ANY feedback you can give me about ANYTHING to make this course professional and useful! Nothing is too nitpicky! 1. 720 or 1080? I want 1080, but everything is so small! All the tools and buttons are hard to see unless your full screen and streaming HD, and I don't think there's a way to increase the size of the UI elements in Krita? 2. Topic list for the Krita series or Linux-Wacom-Krita series. I'll post a work in progress list below. Eventually I hope to get through Krita's entire feature set (ambitious, I know =) 3. Would it be out of line to request donations or would this have any success as a Kickstarter, with the sole purpose of purchasing more drawing tablets for my public highschool classroom? Potential Playlists: Krita 2.9 Tutorial Series Intro 1. Getting started (the bare minimum to get painting) 2. New document settings #. Brush Presets basics #. Layer basics Drawing Tools #. Freehand brush tool (each of the tool specific tutorials will go comprehensively through the Tool Options available to them) #. Line Tool #. Rectanlge and Ellipse Tools #. Polygon and Polyline Tools #. Vector Layers #. Bezier Curve and Freehand Path tools #. Dynamic Brush tool #. Multibrush tool #. ... Linux - Wacom - Krita, Tutorial Series 1. Mapping a Tablet 2. Disabling Touch 3. Wacom Express Keys #. Express Keys Advanced #. Resetting Krita's docker layout #. Adding new brush presets ... Oh, one final caveat, I'm not actually an artist myself... more the coding type, but I can draw kickass stickmen, snails, and chasms! =D |
