When I goto dolphin and try to add a local NAS share using windows file sharing I have no option to copy and paste out of the network folder. Am I doing something wrong?

Not sure you've posted your question in the right place, however...
I experience the same problem - when I open a network share within Dolphin the copy/paste options are not available. It depends on the permissions assigned to the share. If I sign in to a share that requires a username and password, everything works just fine. However, for public shares, the copy/paste options are not available. I have found a workaround: when you have the share open, click on the address bar and enter "guest@" just after the "://". For example, if the server is 192.168.1.2 and the share name is PublicFiles:
This problem does not exist in Ubuntu because Ubuntu prompts you for credentials whenever you attempt to open a share (and there's an option to just select "guest"). I found this very frustrating when I first moved to KDE as there was no indication as to why copy/paste wasn't working for public shares. It would be nice if Dolphin (or the Dolphin subsystem for accessing Samba shares) would use "guest" as a default username if no username is provided. |
