Hello,
I'm using the Fedora spin with the KDE desktop, and I prefer it a lot over Gnome, but I'm having a bit of a freezing problem. The system runs fine most of the time and then it just freezes when I try to open a program. So far opening programs installed through Snap such as Atom, Etcher or Slack have been the only programs causing this issue, and most of the time they open just fine. I'm not sure whether it's KWin or Xorg that's causing the problem, but when the desktop freezes opening a virtual console and killing Xorg solves the problem. I'm using the proprietary Nvidia drivers installed through the Negativo17 repository, and am running a 2 screen setup. On another note, the default display driver (nouveau I assume), had a lot of graphical glitches, especially when highlighting text, and installing the Nvidia driver fixed that issue. Update:
I switched to KDE neon and the problem is now gone . |
