  • run dolphin as root : viewtopic.php?f=224&t=141836&start=30#p408072
  • stop package managers (Pamac) from ever asking for passwords using polkit , sudoers timeout , etc. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=156389#p408592
  • easier ssh access to remote machine with sshfs (kinda like fish in mc) : viewtopic.php?f=223&t=155629&p=408502#p406765
  • SUDO_EDITOR=kate sudoedit /etc/sudoers # to run the Kate editor as root -- now how to manage .txt file associations in dolphin ? ???
  • in ~/-bashrc file , add this line: export SUDO_EDITOR=kate # to save typing it all the time then use it like sudo -e /etc/fstab
  • 2018 bug in Dolphin places panel: you cannot properly drag'n'drop folders. remedy: unhide all folders. Now drag stuff, then hide again.
  • kdeinit5 +dolphin # for giggles
