and GnomishGray theme, which is both for gtk 2 and gtk 3. I think while using kde-gtk-config it is important to have the same theme for gtk 2 and gtk 3. Most themes that are for gtk 3 are made from gtk 2 themes, so no problem to find one. Acctually I can't prove it but I had problem when themes were different. I don't know why.
When I intalled this theme I had only one problem with Firefox. Menu text when I clicked on menu item, for example bookmarks, was white instead of black. The solution is simple. In Firefox profile in .mozilla folder in
/home/user/.mozilla/firefox/gcrhc6xsd7.default/
I created chrome folder with text file named userChrome.css and content:

menu {
color: black ! important;
}
Your Firefox profile folder will be named a little different as it is random name auto-created when you start Firefox for the first time.
And now Firefox looks good. The same procedure was necessarry for Thunderbird.
You can download GnomishGray from
http://gnome-look.org/
or
from PPA repository for Ubuntu:
http://www.webupd8.org/2012/06/5-nice-g ... u-ppa.html

Thanks for the tip apache. I finally gave in to using gnomish-grey and it works great. I was hesitant to go that route as I thought it would make my firefox would inherit the white and grey theme as a whole, and technically that is correct. However I am using a dark Theme(not a persona a true theme from the mozzila add on site) so that over rides it and keeps a nice dark theme for my tabs and the firefox gui as a whole. I use the Tree Style Tabs add on and it needs some tweaks to the new tab button and firefox button, but hopefully they inherit there properties from the css you posted above so they don't stand out like a sore thumb.However all the menus are fine as they inherited the black from my theme. I vote for this to be added to the OP! Thanks again! This was driving me nuts on several sites I frequent!

Note: I tried inserting the package manually to /user/$USER/.themes but it did not work. I tried the PPA and that made it work. I suspect it is because the PPA installs some additional dependencies.

Is it just me or did the GnomishGrey fix stop working?

EDIT: Nope, it was just my system.

Could you help me to modify Firefox add-on
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... -graphite/
http://www.foxdie.us/
so that it can be applied only to menu bar, navigation bar and tabs but not to scrollbars and not to inside menu. For menu I want to keep default theme (gtk theme).
Have a look at scrollbar from foxdie-graphite
http://i.imgur.com/kF1Cy.png
and default gtk scrollbar
http://i.imgur.com/tRO7M.png
Default (inside) menu elements also looks better so I want to keep them.

Inside Chrome folder in Firefox folder I have userContent.css wich is empty.

Oxygen kde works beautifully!
These guys are also working on a theme and addon for Thunderbird.

I'm simply using oxygen-gtk as a GTK theme while working in KDE, and it works well for Firefox and Thunderbird (as well as other GTK based applications). Some tweaks can also be applied to Firefox through userChrome.css.

Firebug works OK for me in KDE. May be it's some add-ons corruption? Take a look at:

To use KDE styled dialogs as the file picker in Firefox requires particular modifications - as far as I am aware, some distributions were shipping Firefox with such changes at one point.

i think you want this: firefox-kde PPA

it should be basically for ubuntu what firefox-kde-opensuse is for arch users (and for OpenSUSE users, of course ;))
