If you want to search a file through nepomuk you can use KRunner or the search field of Dolphin - virtual folders aren't implemented.
So here is a tip to create a *.desktop file which looks like a folder but if you click on it you will get a nepomuk search for a predefined term (e. g. Linux) (unfortunately the search is opened in a new Dolphin-window): Create a file named "Linux". Put in that text:
Comment=Directory effects that the file is listed under Directories in Dolphin (I hope that the name is right. I use a German KDE so I use the German word for Directory (it's Ordner)) so take care that Directory is replaced by the word Dolphin uses for Directory in your language. If you want to search for a tag use as URL:
The tag you search and your search term must be case sensitiv if you search for a tag.

I prefer use Folder View for this kind of job but, I don't really understand what are you doing. Well, yes, I see what are you doing but seems so complicated.
You know that you can write a query in Dolphin or Konqueror and with a drag&drop create a link in the place you like? |

My files are sorted by type. And that's good so. But the Links are at the bottom and it's nicer if my "Virtual Folders" are near the folders. So I did that. And I thought, that some people would like it the same way...

I don't know what a virtual file is, but I have a problem with nepomuk and dolphin search which may be related.
I am dual-booting with windows(rarely), so to reach my files I have a seperate ntfs partition where I keep my videos, pictures, etc. and those folders are symlinked to my home partition and are checked for nepomuk indexing. however whenever I make a search either with krunner or dolphin no files are found. is it due to that virtual file thing? should I report a bug? |
