Hello all!
As stated in the subject, I've recently found a way to move and align plasmoids without editing plasma-desktop-appletsrc file or the like. The trick is graphical and quite intuitive. It involves "Mouse navigation", that is moving your mouse cursor with the numeric keypad. So, here it is: 1. Go to System Settings > Keyboard & Mouse > Mouse > Mouse navigation tab. Enable the "Move pointer with keyboard" checkbox, and tune the settings below (I'll provide some good ones below). 2. Unlock the plasmoids 3. Use your mouse to position the cursor over the "Resize" icon, or over the plasmoid's side-bar, for movement. 4. Press the numeric keypad 0, to simulate a "click-and-hold". 5. Move the cursor with 2,4,6 and 8 keys on the keypad. This will drag the plasmoid. 6. When done, hit 5 on the keypad to release. 7. Repeat with all plasmoids, until happy. Now, the important thing is to tune those settings in the Mouse Navigation tab, in order to move the cursor almost pixel-by-pixel. I've found some settings that are good for me. Here they are: Acceleration delay: 250 ms Repeat interval: 40 ms Acceleration time: 500 ms Maximum speed: 980 pixel/sec (but this doesn't really matter) Acceleration profile: 0 Well, I hope this helps someone All the best! |
