It is well-known that Wine has a tendency to associate itself to all kind of things upon installation (text and XML files, for example). You may not like this in the first place, and even so, if at some stage you uninstall Wine you may find those associations left over in your system.
I haven't explored the full extent of the problem, but as a hopefully helpful note to anyone coming across the same problem in the future, what you want to do is have a look at ~/.local/share/applications/ and see if there are any wine-ish files in there. I got rid of my bogus wine associations by the expedient method of:
(you may need to run this on other users' directories as well) [Edited to say: you may need to rebuild the system cache to pick up the changes without need to logout. Run kbuildsycoca4 on a terminal for that.] HTH |

I too have found that Wine leaves its tracks all over the place. I haven't really done anything about it, but now I'll look into it by taking your advice. Also thanks for the rebuild system cache trick. I knew there was something like that, but couldn't find my notes where I had wrote that down. Thanks again! |
