Install the cad program Medusa4 Personal from the website http://www.cad-schroer.com/Software/MEDUSA4/CADFreeware/. Get a free licence and follow the instructions. When you finish, even if you made it properly you could get stuck and be unable to launch the program. If this happens, verify that libraries libtiff-dev and libtiff4-dev are installed in your system otherwise install them (http://www.libtiff.org/).
Open the kde terminal ¨Konsole¨. A way to do this is to press Alt+F2 and write konsole.
Change your user status to super user typing:
Code: Select all
su -
and entering your password.
When this is done, go into the folder /usr/lib typing in the terminal the following code:
Code: Select all
cd /usr/lib

create a link
Code: Select all
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libtiff.so.4 libtiff.so.3

Now try to open Medusa4 Personal on your Kubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot. It should work.
