zasdfgbnm Registered Member Posts 17 Karma 0 OS	Re: kde 4.9 failed to start Fri Aug 03, 2012 11:54 am Oh, I have find a useful information. The problem was caused by kwin. I find that plasma fail safe and kde/openbox works well while plasma workspace doesn't work.

I did Code: Select all `rm ~/.* -r` before use. So there is no old config file here.

I changed Code: Select all `VIDEO_CARDS="i915 intel"` to Code: Select all `VIDEO_CARDS="intel"` in my gentoo's /etc/make.conf And do Code: Select all `emerge -uDNv world` It works now. Thank you very much. What's strange is that I do have an i915 graphic card, but adding i915 to VIDEO_CARDS leads to failure.
