I updated your post, such sentences are not acceptable in any way here.

Pretty hot discussion here...

I personally think that KDE 4.2 will finally close the gap that existed between 3.5.10 and 4.x, and the only things that aren't on par with the KDE 3 ones will be third-party-programs like K3B. Pretty much the only thing I REALLY, REALLY miss in KDE 4 is the *great* Printer Management tool that we have in KDE 3.5.10. It would be great if that would be ported/whatever, because it has got so many features that are missing or much more complicated in other Printer configuration tools.

When KDE 4.0 was released, I was very pessimistic and even thought about starting to use Gnome, but now I see the advantages of re-writing the libraries instead of just porting them - all that buggy, **** code that has been accumulating for years and years, all that outdated concepts are gone: you can stop just being annoyed because of all that **** stuff and start doing something useful.

According to the 4.3 feature plan, printing is going to be heavily worked on. ( memory from reading planet ): The developer(s) behind printing decided to delay the improvements to 4.3 so it could be fully featured and debugged rather than released half baked.

( development started shortly before the soft feature freeze, thus it was decided to continue development and merge with trunk sometime after the freeze lifts )

I just want to say, that I unlike some users really, really like KDE4.
When it was first available from Kubuntu repos I want and install it, and at that time I was more of a "noob" in KDE and Linux.
But the first reaction was cool! And that was for KDE4.0 release.
From then on it was always like that.
I did keep the KDE3 until KDE4.1 came out, but since then I'm KDE4 only. Also because Kubuntu comes with KDE4 only.
But even if I would change the distro I would go and search for a KDE4 distro not KDE3.
And it was not really all "love" with me and KDE4.0. While I still had KDE3 I had to use it for months as I broke my KDE4 beyond repair...
But I got it fixed and installed it back again. and since then I'm on bleeding edge, which is not always good for my system, but I just can help my self.
ATM I use KDE4.2beta2 and can't imagine to go back to KDE4.2 or KDE3 for that matter.
But it's probably different from user to user.
I was always aware that KDE4 is more best quality and I should expect breakage. And probably the fact I'm student and have plenty of time to play around with my computer. But I don't see someone like my father use it, when he needs his computer to "do stuff as quickly and easily as possible(TM)" that's why I don't try and install Linux on all my computer at home as some does.
And as it was said before if you don't like it don't use it. there is an repo for Kubuntu to install KDE3 search for it on Ubuntu and Kubuntu forums.
And about Vista, I don't know who created this "meme" that Vista sucks, but the only Vista user that I know has no problem with it at all.
And unlike some others I can' wait how the KDE5 will look, I mean KDE4 looks really good and it's really usable is there anyway to make it different?
(There is always a way to make it better). But I can assure that a bit of revolution is always better than just constant evolution. (Take a look at Gnome, the first thing after installing Ubuntu 7.10 /when I was migrating from XP to Linux/ was: hm gnome looks exactly the same as it did in Red Hat 9, and that was 7(?) years ago...
