I'm not getting anywhere with this, and now I don't even see how to uninstall the KDE Release download. How do I get this off my computer?

Eh? What distro have you installed and did you install a KDE specific release of that distro?? (like not much point uninstalling one desktop environment if you don't have another ready in it's place).
