I'd like to create a custom theme for KDE. Specifically, I'd like to do the following:
Make the taskbar a custom color. Make the window border a custom color. Replace the current KDE window control buttons (close, maximize, etc.) with custom made ones. Replace the waiting cursor with a custom cursor. I can't seem to find any good in depth tutorials on doing any of this, so any help is appreciated. |

Can you please clarify what you mean by taskbar? Are you referring to the Plasma Desktop panel?
The window border colour is controlled by the window decoration, however some styles will follow the KDE colour scheme (such as Oxygen) so writing your own colour scheme should suffice here. Replacing the window control buttons would be more difficult, and definitely would require writing an Aurorae theme at the very least. I suggest posting in the KWin forum concerning that. In terms of cursor themes, KDE uses regular X format cursor themes, so any guide relevant to those should work.

Yes, I was referring to the Plasma Desktop panel. Sorry I wasn't clear on that. |

To customise the Plasma Panel you will need to create a custom Plasma theme. Information on creating one of these can be found on Techbase.
