I used to use KDE as my DE as choice on Debian, Kubuntu and sometimes with Fedora. Lately, I am using anything else - trying Gnome, Cinnamon and XFCE usually.
I cannot connect my Android Smartphone. I have various problems but the fact remains, it doesn't connect. If I am lucky that it does (on one occurence, it connected on a live DVD with OpenSUSE but it was short-lived. The resolution was incorrect so I restarted and selected the right one. It then proceeded to operate in the same manner as Kubuntu. It gives an error 150. Not sure what that is). The other problem is using image viewers for the pictures that are on there. They just don't load. Another error and/or in Kubuntu, it loads forever. There's other deal breakers but I found that, in many cases, I could at least access the files in Gnome and Cinnamon. Other problems were various crashes. So, I won't be using KDE again until I see better support with Android mobile devices. It's Android 4.1 I tried KDE connect, also, in a Debian-based distro w/ KDE and nothing worked. Thanks for reading. |

It would be interesting to investigate this further, to determine whether the necessary components to support MTP were installed. As for KDE Connect, that requires the companion application on the mobile device to be installed as well I believe, and operates over wireless networks.
