Are you sure? The current version is 4.14, 4.1.4 is over 5 years old.
Never seen something like that, but it could be a graphics driver problem.
Apparently kwin crashed on login. Try to press Alt+F2 and run "kwin" manually. Again, this might be caused by the graphics driver.
The latest fglrx driver does _not_ support the Radeon 3870, only HD5000 and up. If you have it installed anyway, this can of course cause all sorts of problems, as it overrides some of Xorg's and Mesa's libraries (libglx and libGL in particular). Or is the "latest" driver you are using as old as KDE 4.1.4? It did still support the HD 3870 back then... ![]() |

The KMenu functions correctly and the desktop elements are visible but all the windows (even dialogs and prompts) are borderless and they lack he window titlebar.

That would suggest that kwin is crashing. Try to restart it. (kwin or kwin_x11 if using Plasma5) And you are using 4.1.4 as well? Or why are you asking here? Better open a new thread for your problem. |
