I'm on Ubuntu 14.04LTS, with KDE installed via Synaptic and the "Kubuntu-full" metapackage. My issue is this: When I am in KDE, the Muon update alerter comes up sometimes two or three times/day telling me about updates.. I know where to set the update frequency in Ubuntu/Unity and have it set for "notify weekly" "apply security fixes automatically", but it *appears* Muon does not honor these settings, and I can't seem to find where to make these same adjustments in Muon. These endless update notifications are extremely annoying...
Edit a couple of days later: After poking around further, I found what seems to be the KDE version of the stock Ubuntu update config panel, and it shows "Automatically check for updates: Weekly", "When there are security updates: Download and install", "When there are other updates: Display weekly". I'm getting pestered by Muon several times/day about both security and non-security updates. The reason I put KDE on this system was the fact that I detest Unity, but constantly being pestered about updates doesn't make me really happy about KDE either.... What gives??? Dave |
