Multiple desktops restoration on bootup? plus...

Greetings, all.

I've been trying to work several issues in Kubuntu. First on the list:
https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthrea ... to=newpost
Apps in multi desktops ought to restore to those desktops on reboot, no matter which Desktop is active at shutdown. There have been several variations on this behaviour: All appearing in Desktop 1, All appearing in Desktop in use at shutdown, and (at present) Dolphin (3 instances in Desktop 2) not appearing at all. Besides this, Firefox (Desktop 1 with 3 tabs) does not restore tabs but reliably does so manually. amule does not reliably delete its lockfile on shutdown. I would venture this _all_ to be a function of the shutdown process - not allowing time for saving of apps' status, or not having a reliable means of delaying power-off until _all_ apps have completely shut down.
Overall impression is that Kubuntu has VD! (Default is 1 Virtual Desktop, Adding a Pager to the Panel does nothing until increasing number in System Settings, and doing that first automatically brings up a Pager! :)

Next, self-explained:

and occasionally the same for the Networks icon.

Then not sure if this is your bailiwick:
https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthrea ... to=newpost
re Muon Updater not reporting true state (long-term issue, and _very_ off-putting!).

These have irked several users on that forum. If not in your bailiwick, would you be able to pass this/these to the appropriate person/people, or recommend a more appropriate forum? I'm in NZ, and with timezone issues draw a blank at any civil hour local time on IRC.

TIA

I have generated a (very amateur) video of shutdown/bootup. 205MB, 17 minutes. I think the email system will cope with it as an attachment ( email me at [)exy at xtra dot co dot nz and I'll reply), but if not - and the pictures are worth the '1000 words' - email me a link to an upload site (free - I'm a pensioner, old-but-not-stupid ;) ).

There are 'extras' to the 'plus', but they're microsloth issues that may be affecting others. If there are cures, I'd sure like to know.
My system boots Kubuntu by using the CDROM-before-HDD to stoke up a SuperGrub CD. If I leave the CD out or select the 'Vista' OS, I can run the original Windblows (7 upgraded to 10).
I'm in New Zealand, and I run the RTC in UTC (don't you love TLA's?). Windblows fails to set system time to Local by NTP on bootup. I don't recall it being a problem in Xp, and I've not run Vista, but 7 and 10 both suffer from this.
When shutting down to reboot into Kubi-wan, all is well if I select Shutdown. If I select Reboot, however, the Win7(/10) drive fails to mount, reporting an 'unsafe state' error.

Hoping for response (none in the past 3 weeks :( ).
