KDE 4.2 alpha

When will the first alpha of KDE 4.2 being released? I though it should have been out by now.

It's already been released. There just wasn't any public announcement, but expect one when Beta 1 comes out, which should be pretty soon :

If you want an alpha just grab a weekly snapshot. It's the same thing.

huh..well then. I am in the process of installing/setting up archlinux since I think it's better than most other distros (my main distro is Kubuntu right now) at letting you test svn releases etc. Usually for things like kde someone has a repo, but if you ever want to build packages it's pretty simple as well. Thanks for the info.

What are the main changes that I should expect to see? Are there any super exciting things or any major deficiencies I should know about? This is using qt 4.5 right?

I think that most of the breakage is already over only leaving the exciting stuff, lots ;). And no, this is using Qt 4.4.
