Any chance Netbook Interface could come back?

Was thinking about this the other night. With how Ubuntu Touch is falling on it's face, and KDE Plasma Mobile seems dormant, what about bringing
back KDE Netbook Interface as a touch-enabled interface for tablets and 2-in-1 devices.

Refocus Plasma 5 more toward the Desktop like 4 was, and utilize the Netbook option for touch devices?

Just an idea. Don't know how much that would take to add it to Plasma 5, but it would give a viable option for Linux on smaller format devices.

The Plasma Netbook shell has been dropped from Plasma 5, see the following KDE forum https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=289&t=126631&p=335947&hilit=plasma+netbook#p335899 post However, you can achieve something similar by editing the file ~/.config/kwinrc adding BorderlessMaximizedWindows=true in the [Windows] section.

Although you can get similar Kwin behavior in Plasma 5.x(latest is 5.8.5 at time of this post), I think what we want is something like the old "Search and Launch" desktop layout.
I would like to have the "Search and Launch" layout back as well, back in KDE SC 4(which I still use on some of my machines to this day), it was my go-to desktop layout on my desktop and my laptop, even on my TV-media-center, it was a shame to see that it is no longer present in Plasma 5.
