Anyone addressed the issue of having vague and duplicate menu entries yet? For example, if you write down "widget", "Advanced" or "decoration(s)" in the search bar of the Applications Menu it shows vague and duplicate entries (even though they are different menus)

Has this issue been brought up before? If not then you can't assume that anybody knows about it or has done anything about it.
I've seen a similar problem in Enlightenment's Everything launcher, and I agree that it is rather obnoxious (especially when one of the two "duplicates" works and the other doesn't, but there is nothing to indicate which one is which) Doing some brief testing I can't reproduce it, but I'm on KDE/Plasma 4 still and using kickoff instead of homerun, so that doesn't help any. I'd suggest you write up a bug report in bugs.kde.org

Okay, thanks for the suggestion. However I can't find kickoff (https://userbase.kde.org/Plasma/Kickoff) in the list of programs in the list provided in https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi

Doing a little digging, I see that the plasmashell product has a component for Application Launcher (kickoff).

I think the version of KDE plasma and distribution you're using is relevant and makes a difference for what experiences or bugs different users report. I'm running KDE Neon and have never seen this issue. I used Kubuntu for years before and I don't recall issues like this either. |
