Loosing wallet and kmail settings

Sun Dec 18, 2016 6:50 pm
I repeatedly face the following problem:
- When the Unlock-screen is displayed (because of reopening the laptop or returning from standby) keyboard and mouse are dead. No way to revive them.
- The only thing i can do is power off
- After rebooting the wallet seems to be gone and kmail has lost all of the display settings. The mails and filters are still here but of course none of the accounts is usable because the wallet is gone. KWallet will ask me to create a new one.

Is there anyone else with this problem?
Any ideas on how to solve or avoid this effects?

if you want an answer you should supply more info: distro, plasma version, do you have seperate graphics card (very important)
have you opened the wallet manager, looked in default location, inspected journald, .xsession-errors
if you search google for "resume plasma keyboard mouse dead" you will find lots of posts.

Thank you for your reply providing a informative search string. In case it helps anyone my config was openSuse Leap 42.1 with plasma 5 and all available updates installed. The laptop is a Thinkpad X220 with an integrated graphics card and the i915 driver.

Since all posts i found solved this type of problem by updating some H/W driver i upgraded the laptop to openSuse Leap 42.2 and opened a sshd port to be able to look into the system when the freeze happens next time. Since the effect was not reproducable i cannot tell when or if this will happen again.

As an additional note: It seemed to me that some upgrade mechanism had moved all settings from KDE4 to KDE5 which left KMail without any. (If i understood correctly that KMail uses KDE4 settings.)
