Sometime in the Amiga *epoch* what is today called the desktop was called the workbench, a much more appropriate name. I then decided that the two attributes needed to describe it were: mostly empty, and brutally ordered. With kde4 I eventually evolved mine to this

How loooooong is it going to take, or should I move on to something else right now? Don't get me wrong, I love(D) kde, it was THE thing that got me to Linux in the early days of Suse-4,x!

Some texto comments

- xEyes is indispensable on a large hi-res screen, preferably MOUSE-TRAILS too (THAT went down years ago)

- a 9/16 ratio (tyhe stupidest thing I have ever heard of) there must be an option to put panels on the sides widgets like clocks are poorly designed.

- the regionalization SUCKS! How would I set the shortdate format I want in plasma5, or the font and appearance? The standard in Canada is metrics but that doesn't mean I want to use metrics, and the list goes on and on!

Any posting on usenet or in any forum, except as here addressed to a particular person and by virtue of the fact that they can be googled out by anyone, is considered broadcast to the entire planet. If any of my comments offended you I apologise to you, otherwise I feel no inclination to edit anything nor do I consider any of it to have been insulting to anyone in particular. I wrote the article (or whatever input to a web-hosted forum may be called) from a Tumbleweed system using Plasma #5-something, I also usually have several of each Debian, Slackawre, Mageia, KxStudio, AvLinux and other systems installed and used rotating different Desktops such as kde. If neither explicit nor implicit questions are evident enough for anyone all they have to do is not respond, beyond that I thought to be contributing to the evolution of plasma 5 even though I may be close to abandoning kde altogether.

It's the naming of your pictures that are insulting, and people will not be able to see those, as the forum converts the swear words to ****. You come in a KDE forum and call your pictures ****, and expect this to not be insulting? Grow up and learn to talk politely to people you expect help from.
