I still don't know exactly what a widget is. :-\
I can almost always tell the difference between a widget and a horse (or a chicken). But, I've never understood how to tell the difference between what some people call widgets and what others call icons or pointers or shortcuts or programs or tools or whatever.

I've looked up definitions in several places and those are almost as helpful as your favorite call-center's Indian or Filipino Customer Service agent.

Can anyone tell me EXACTLY what a widget is ??

MANY THANKS in advance.

"Can anyone tell me EXACTLY what a widget is ??"

Zero replies.

That's pretty much what I thought... Nobody really knows what a widget is well enough to explain it to someone else.

'Tis simply another of life's unfortunate mysteries.
